Kedarnath is one of the twelve “Jyotirlingas” of Lord Shiva. Situated in the backdrop of the majestic Sri Kedarnath range, Kedarnath Temple is a 16 kms trek from Gaurikund. Adi Guru Shankaracharya – a great scholar & saint, enshrined Lord Shiva on this land.
At Kedarnath, there are several Kunds (pools, tanks) that are known for their religious significances – Shivkund, Retkund, Hanskund, Udakkund, Rudhirkund are the most important. A little away from Kedarnath, is a temple dedicated to Bhaironathji who is ceremoniously worshipped at the opening & closing of Kedarnath. The belief is that Bhairavnathji protects this land from evil during the time when temple of Kedarnath is closed.
During the winters, the shrine is submerged in snow & hence is closed.
This 5 Nights/6 Days tour will take you on a pilgrimage tour to the holy temple of Kedarnath in Uttarakhand. This tour begins from Delhi and will cover the regions of Haridwar, Rudraprayag, Gaurikund, and Kedarnath. Apart from visiting the Kedarnath Temple, the tour package also includes sightseeing of numerous temples and holy destinations enroute.

Itinerary
Arrival in New Delhi and we’ll drive to Haridwar, settled on the foothills of Shivalik Hills, enroute visit Mansa Devi Temple. On arrival at Haridwar, check-in to your hotel. In the evening, proceed to Har Ki Pauri to enjoy Ganga Aarti on the banks of Ganges.

Morning drive to Guptkashi en-route visit Deoprayag (Confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda River). Upon arrival, Check-in at Hotel for Overnight stay.

Early morning, drive to Gaurikund (32 kms drive). Upon arrival, start your journey, a tough Trek of 16 kms ahead (Stop for lunch en route at Rambara). Continue trekking to arrive by late afternoon, at the Kedarnath Temple. Check-in at the Camp.
After freshening up, perform Pooja and also Darshan at Shri Kedarnathji. Evening, we also visit Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi behind the Temple.
Kedarnath, stands in the middle of a wide plateau and is surrounded by lofty snow covered peaks. The present temple, built in the 8th century by Adi Shankaracharya, stands adjacent to the site of an earlier temple built by the Pandavas. The inner walls of the assembly hall are decorated with figures of various deities and scenes from mythology. Outside the temple door a large statue of the Nandi Bull stands as guard. Overnight stay at the camp.

Early morning Pooja and Darshan of Shree Kedarnath Ji. After breakfast, trek down to Gaurikund. Later continue drive to Rudrapryag. On arrival check-in at hotel.

Post breakfast, you’ll undergo a morning drive to Haridwar via Rishikesh and Srinagar (Garhwal). During this 6 hrs journey, you’ll get an opportunity to witness the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda River, which is famed as Devprayag.
Thereafter, in the evening, a visit to Laxman Jhula and 14 feet idol of lord Shiva awaits you to offer some spectacular sights of the town and river Ganges.
Renowned as the Yoga City, Rishikesh is situated 24 km away from Haridwar. The land of Rishikesh is considered to be sacred where people come to achieve Moksha through meditation. Rishikesh is India’s largest Yoga center and thus, houses various ashrams and yoga retreat for tourists.

After breakfast (9:00 am) drive back to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, transfer to airport/railway station to catch the flight/train for onward destination.

Tips to Travel
The Uttarakhand Police and Tourism Department has implemented a daily limit for visitors for the Kedarnath Yatra 2026. Around 15,000 devotees will be allowed daily for the darshan of Baba Kedarnath in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag region.
The Uttarakhand Health Department has advised the pilgrims to plan a seven-day tour for the Chardham Yatra to adjust to the fluctuating climate conditions. Emergency medical officers, doctors and specialists are also placed on the routes for the Kedarnath Yatra 2026.
The temperature of the Kedarnath region ranges from 0 to 3 degrees Celsius during the daytime and at night the temperature drops below, therefore proper clothing and appropriate food supplies are required to be carried in the high-altitude region.
The online puja booking system is available until June 30th for the Badrinath and Kedarnath Shrines, therefore make early reservations for the paths and pujas in the temple to avoid last minute hassle.

Yes, the most common route for the Kedarnath Yatra begins from Gaurikund. Pilgrims can reach Gaurikund by road and then, either trek or hire by pony.
